Honestly, I watch Grace’s reviews just for the joy of them, even for films I will never see. I’ve never been the biggest fans of Perry’s brand of cinema. His drama’s are overwrought and his comedies still so often come off as the stage plays that they were birthed from.
Tyler Perry only has a career because the black christians his movies pander to don’t know he’s gay lol. The guy is a hack of the highest level.
The only good Madea movie was the first one. Everything after that is garbage.

i figured out that a movie is going to be bad if it’s promoted on spanish morning show. The Mummy, Boo 2, anything by Will Smith
There’s a niche market for this type of comedy. In all these years; it’s probably still profitable if it’s getting released in theatre instead of going straight to dvd/blu-ray. IMHO, the comedy of Tyler in drag just doesn’t work. He’s seriously limited in comedy acting and he doesn’t have comedic range at all. Compare Medea to Robin Williams – (ms. Doubtfire) or Eddie Murphy (Nutty Professor) it’s night-and-day.
I think sometimes hollywood and media gives him a pass because he’s been around for a long time and as an entrepreneur, became financially successful. And for those who doesn’t show respect; it’s not hard to believe; the comedy just isn’t good. Since, he is the producer, he keeps perpetuating this character in the public consciousness, …hire a professional to write better jokes.
U know i’ m black, & i’ ve never seen a Tyler Perry movie. And, i’ m a film fanatic. From ” The Power & the Glory”, 2 ” Thor Ragnarok,”. Am I missing out???

I’ll admit that Tyler Perry’s movies are getting worse. And I think that’s because he’s overdoing his Madea character. Madea is her best when she is not the main character in the movie. Look at “Diary of a Mad Black Woman”!

I don’t think Tyler Perry is that good of a writer to start with, that’s just my opinion. I think some of the Madea stuff is okay at best, but I feel it goes on and on. I think he thinks he’s funny but I think he’s repetitive and boring.
