  1. The baby was supposed to be Jesus, son of God, so the real flaw in the analogy is whether Mother is supposed to be Virgin Mary or Mother Nature or a hybrid of both. It’s even more gross because of that, in my opinion. The best representation of the feminine he could come up with was a mish mash of mythological gobbledygook the writer probably had no deeper understanding of in the first place. Gross.

  2. After doing a little bit of internet research, I found some of the alternate titles for “mother!”:

    “Dating a Narcissist: The Movie”
“Why Am I Not Surprised: The Sequel”
“How to Terribly Miscast JLaw Only to Spend Half the Movie Counting Her Nosehairs”
    “Nap!”

    1. If it was supposed to be Mother Earth, why did the actor playing “Him” never change actors, but multiple actresses played “Mother”? There is one planet and multiple gods.

    2. If it was Mother Earth, where were diseases, tornadoes? Mother Earth defends herself.

    3. I would have liked this movie at all if Mother made ANY choice. At all.

This was the laziest auto-fellating excuse of a film Aronofski has made.
