  1. Good Review. Some of the complains you have especially about being too jokey worries me. I hated the GotG movie (I know everyone loves that but ugh) hopefully, Taika Waititi’s humor works more for me and I already love these characters from previous movies and the new additions seem great.

Here is my question, I hope you answer it. Glad Valkyrie is getting great reception. She was one of the new addition I was looking forward to. How much is she in the movie, who does she share most of her scenes with, Does she and Loki bond and is their fight included in the movie?

    • Sanika
Thank you, I can certaintly see your point in Guardians and I dont love it either, but I really liked it since comedy is what defines those characters so for me it worked perfectly, at least in the first movie.
She a whole lot of time on screen and a great sotry that connects her to the whole mythology and her fight with Loki certainly is in the movie as well as other. Cant say her bond with Loki is that big but she does have a very charming one with another character (not Thor)

    • Sanika no need to thank me, always looking forward to talk to people down here in the comments and try my hardest to be active in responding.
Come back to let me know what you thought once you see it 🙂

  2. I wasn’t impressed with the tone of the trailer. It felt out of place with the other Thor movies. I can’t wait to see it though. Do you think it could’ve been fixed with a different director or is it the story that’s the problem?

    • I’d say “yes”, but there still would’ve been problems with the story itself, tho I know Waititi was very involved in the story.
Which gets tricky, cause it’s wonderful that he as a director was able to express himself so freely, and he does truly magnificent things. But his personality does come across too much at point, damaging story points and the tonality as a whole

  3. I knew the humor would be in unnecessary moments. Just a recurring problem some MCU movies tend to have.
But the main characters and the movie overall sound good.
Though the title is a tad misleading; I heard Hulk has more of a character arc than Thor does, true?

    • I wouldn’t agree with that, in fact Hulk has a full character has with added fillings of the time between this and Age of Ultron, also shedding more light into his and Banner’s psyche.
Thor on the other hand, not only has an arc through this film, but an overall arc that encompases the Thor we meet in the first film, to how he has evolved through his appearances in the mcc, to now. To the point that I found myself thinking that if characters pathos is one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen done in Superhero or fantasy storytelling in general

  4. Thor ragnarok manage to do what no MCU as ever done to me:

    Stop believing in Marvel superheroes

It’s a shame because I’m the biggest marvel fan but I really couldn’t take the MCU seriously with this film,I don’t care if MCU movies have jokes in it but making it a comedy THE MCU IS DEAD TO ME
