Dateline January 29, 2014 – Portland Oregon: At a meeting of the City Council, Portland's Mayor Charlie Hales leads the charge on endorsing Oregon's new proposed "Universal Background Checks." Dan Sandini, a Citizen Journalist in the Portland area has a seat to express his concerns. "This is a right given to me by God! … you should all be ashamed," decries Sandini. Portland City Council member Steve Novik, short on manners, is so angry he interrupts the polite citizen before he's finished his testimony. "Can you not interrupt me?" rebukes Sandini. He finishes with: "This is the last bastion of freedom on earth, and every single one of these laws stands in the way of freedom loving citizens owning weapons, and puts in place a mechanism for someone to disarm the citizens, just like they did in Katrina."
