Kenya: Tear gas fired at anti-government protesters | BBC News

Kenyan police have fired tear gas in the capital, Nairobi, and the coastal city of Mombasa to disperse anti-government protests.

In both city centres many businesses have remained closed.

Demonstrators have also taken to the streets of other cities including Kisumu.

Human rights groups say since the protests against a controversial finance bill began two weeks ago 39 people have been killed by security forces.

  1. BBC WE ARE STILL BRINGING U NEWS COZ WE ARE TIRED OF DICTATORSHIP IN AFRICA 🇰🇪 🇰🇪 🇰🇪 🇰🇪 WE AS UGANDANS WE STAND WITH U 💪💪💪💪

    • End Western Imperialism in Africa 💪🏿
Niger is leading by example. More African countries must join BRICS & be part of the rising Multipolar World, away from Western Imperialism.

  2. Former president of Kenya ,Moi, was best known internationally for sending peace keeping forces to other countries while his own country was embroiled in internal conflicts and clashes. Ruto, a student of Moi, is following the same script. He sends his best policemen to Haiti for bring peace while back home the same police are overwhelmed by protestors. It’s sheer madness

  3. We’re United not only on streets, we’re educating each other about the constitution and bills, laws, were creating platforms to recall ministers and a time is coming out parents will join us in the streets

  4. This is the consequence of neglecting those whom you are entrusted to care for. Tanzania, take note: there exists a breaking point when people become disillusioned, disregarding orders and promises—they’ve had enough! The curse on these African leaders seems irreversible, with no antidote in sight . It is so strange to even think about.
