Comic-Con: Sia Joins the Voice Cast of 'My Little Pony: The Movie'
The singer-songwriter also will contribute two original songs to the film’s soundtrack.
Singer-songwriter Sia has joined the voice cast of My Little Pony: The Movie it was announced at a panel at Comic-Con Friday.
The singer behind "Chandelier" will play pony pop star Songbird Serenade, and will also contribute two original songs to the film’s soundtrack.
The Hasbro and Lionsgate film's cast already includes Uzo Aduba, Emily Blunt, Kristen Chenoweth, Taye Diggs, Michael Pena and Liev Schrieber.
Rita Hsiao (Toy Story 2, Mulan) and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic writer Meghan McCarthy are writing the script for the project, which will be directed by Jayson Thiessen.
The film will be produced by Brian Goldner, Stephen Davis and Josh Feldman, for Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures. My Little Pony: The Movie is scheduled for release on October 6, 2017.
Sia is best known for her music and collaborating on songs with top artists like David Guetta ("Titanium") and Flo Rida ("Wild Ones). She released her seventh studio album This is Acting in 2016. She performed a song on the soundtrack for recent animated hit Finding Dory.
