My hammer has 85% affinity, is there a point where affinity starts being a waste?
You want 100% with Drachen or the Master’s Touch set bonus in general. Stack Weakness Exploit and Maximum Might.
Shvabicu maximum might is awful with hammer. But very good with other weapons.
Angel it’s not awful with hammer. I’m a hammer main and it works on big bang and every other hard hitter. If you’re just running around charging then it’s awful, but you shouldn’t do that
Shvabicu I guess it’s ok with the diablos hammer. But you don’t need it for this one, or the styx. They already crit almost always when you are doing combos like big bang.
Shvabicu you don’t need 100% with masters touch. At 80 or 90 your sharpness goes down very slowly and you’ll be able to sharpen if the monster runs. At that point Id rather prioritize other skills like attack or crit boost
Over 6 hrs in the new kulve taroth siege and only 1 rarity 8 duplicate……
I barely get any rarity 8s and when I do they are old repeats. I need this hammer tho. Also The Obliterations football is really good with the dracen set and odogaron coil. With no buffs I have 1305 attack and 65 affinity.

I haven’t made the Vero, but I did make some prior to Kulve and whilst I’m reasonably adept with the weapon, I still find it awkward finding ones that fit the monster I’m hunting. Vero does look good but there’s a few with the att/def/health L songs.
MustangTri72 HH is really raw damage focused, so you can really just narrow it down to the highest attack power horns and use them on everything. Buffs are secondary, in that If you want something specific like Earplugs or whatnot you just use the highest attack horn with that song.
Yeah I see it reaches 1004 att with elementless, and nice white sharp too. Fair enough, although the whole raw>element has always been my biggest gripe about the franchise.
MustangTri72 Elemental builds can out-preform raw ones if done correctly. Mainly with fast hitting weapons such as sns, db, and lance. But I agree that raw is too powerful. Why bother with weaknesses when elementless weapons can kill elders in 5-10 minutes?
Yeah I know, there’s also the few occasions element is needed for damage or breaks, like Fatty armour mode, or Chameleos horn etc… It’s too situational though, fast weapons against monsters with high elemental weaknesses, otherwise, generally speaking, raw>element. To me raw should do medium damage that will carry you through a fight if necessary, whereas if element was key, it would encourage multiple weapon use and builds as opposed to just take the Ignition or Shatterer or Slasher, as you say, what’s the point of elemental weapons/weaknesses if raw will do better?
Stop taunting me with this amazing hammer that I’ll never get to drop!

Small tip for anyone watching regarding roar rolling.
Watch the monster and not your character as the roar is about to happen.
You may have to watch the animation across multiple fights so don’t feel disappointed if you don’t nail it.
Learn the tell and when the pinnacle time to roll is, rathian draws her head back and the timing is when she lurches forward.

All I see is a hammer that does way less damage than Diablos Shatterer II. And why don’t you use Maximum Might? Slugger is a waste of slots.
Coz hes not the best player with regards to builds. Ive watched a couple of his uploads and majority of them are garbage. If you want proper builds look for Speedrunners most of them use highly efficient builds. Just avoid terms with “aerial” speedruns because those builds are very specialized on 1 move. You can check mine too 😛

Not necessarily, suggesting that most speedrunners use “proper builds” is a weak inductive argument. Most speedrunners use “glass cannon” builds to get better timing. They’re successful because they have the skill to go alongside the build. Is one of the reasons many players die in multiplayer, they copy the build but don’t have the skill.

speedrunner builds are too squishy for average players who aren’t used to constant attacking and familiarity with the monster.
If you want a fast time then go for a speedrunner build.
If you want a guaranteed successful hunt then you go for an immortal/regen build.
I think they got a bad luck thing going with the loot. Cause I got the water, thunder bow and the new thunder great sword and I didn’t even break the horns. All I did was join the server as they just broke it.

Agreed it comes down to as tag said personal play style, some like raw some like affliction I think this hammer is the best because there is nothing more strangely satisfying than putting a monster to sleep then smashing it awake only to put it to sleep again. That’s just my thought though.
Depends what results your chasing I am having a great time with the elemental side, raw damage just got to boring.
Why wouldn’t he use food buffs, just makes the showcase more realistic because you should be using food buffs all the time anyway.
