I had came across several articles regarding Kaveri 2.0 where expected thrust is mentioned in range of 90-95kN. Hope GTRE will get the funding required and will get successful as their success is our Nation’s success and will open a gate of new era for Indian defence industries. Jai Bharat 🇮🇳🇮🇳..

GTRE is looking for volunteer Pilots to test Kaveri engines in single engine Tejas to get $1B more for Kaveri – that could buy a dozen multiengine test platforms with strong wings to hang test engines under and large enough for 6 techs and their tonne of testing equipment….
GE400 series estimates show modern 2Bn$ is required to develop an engine from scratch. Kaveri 90kN to enhance the core of kaveri 1.0 with 1Bn$ ask seems to be in this direction. It might take a few a more range upto 1.5Bn $ to develop.
GTRE isn’t going to get $1B to continue reinventing already invented F404 and F414 that will soon be Make In India – when GTRE will require that $1B + much more to coFund coDevelopment of that new engine with GE or P&W or Safran or RR…

Whap and kestral are far better than stryker. Stryker cannot perform amphibuous missions and can’t go into water. Also, power to weight ratio of whap is higher than that of stryker. Also, more firepower can be easily added by slight Modifications.
Conclusion : Import lobby won,

Kaveri engine is our only hope
By focusing on general electrics
India should focus on kaveri engine
I think GTRE should go public and raise the money for the new engine.
Indian Army has failed the Make in India campaign by importing Stryker’s. If we can’t even help and work with our domestic partners to make an indigenous Stryker type vehicle why do we then cry when the private companies don’t want to work on mega-expensive and high risk projects like AMCA.
If kaveri 2.0 materializes, then more derivative engines like marine engines, high bypass engine for airplanes can also be developed using the core engine. Great news.
