Any respectable District or State’s Attorney will see the blatant, retaliatory nature of these trumped-up charges being suddenly imposed 15 months after the illegal detainment and near-arrest of that citizen journalist, who had ADVANCED PERMISSION to be there by the property owner. The fact is, the event was previously advertised as being a PUBLIC EVENT, so she had every Constitutionally protected right to be there! She was practicing her 1st Amendment guaranteed right to record in public. That Sheriff is a complete TYRANT, who views his perceived “AUTHORITY” as more important that a citizen’s Rights. Absolutely DESPICABLE, AND DEPLORABLE BEHAVIOR on his part. He should have Federal Civil Rights charges filed against him and could be found guilty of violating U.S. Code 242, Title 18, Deprivation of Rights under Color of Law.
But if I understand correctly this occurred right in front of the state attorney general and the governor. That is the highest legal authority there is in that state. Which means the fish is rotten from the head down. This looks more to be a RICO case as it is the criminal conspiring of the AG, the DA and the sheriff’s department. This needs to go federal and the DOJ needs to be contacted.
