Frontline Insight: Syria’s citizen journalists

UPDATE: The UK government seized Zaina Erhaim's passport as she came to Britain to speak at a literary festival. They say it was at the request of the Syrian government, who claimed her passport was stolen.

Returning to Syria after working for the BBC in London, Zaina Erhaim found that all of the citizen journalists reporting on the civil war were men. When she decided to run training sessions for women who wanted to be journalists, she quickly realised the obstacles they faced were enormous.
