The meeting at Wiper house was attended by NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga, fellow co-principal Musalia Mudavadi as well as several Members of Parliament.
The goons who are said to have been accompanying the leaders present descended on Citizen senior political journalist Francis Gachuri as well as NTV camera person Jane claiming their media houses were biased during the fresh Presidential election.
Journalists from other media houses in solidarity with their colleagues walked out of the premises terming the incident unfortunate and an attack on press freedom.
ODM director of Communications Philip Etale has termed the incident unfortunate and barbaric saying Raila hasn’t taken the matter rightly.
He apologized to the two journalists saying an official statement will be released soon and that the youths involved will be reprimanded.Raila and Mudavadi were later scheduled to address a joint press conference at Okoa Kenya secretariat following Monday’s announcement of the Presidential election.
Nasa mnapenda vta sana kila mahali mkienda n vta.
enough is enough
enough is enough
Very nice move by the journalists to walk out of function because one of them has been attacked physically.
They must persevere coz those are part of the challenges they expect to meet. Je, wanapotupiwa teargas huwa wanaboycot? Hiyo ndio gazeti na taharifa inayo waletea unga, wakiboycot then it means they have no news put on papers or stream on air. Meaning that they’ll lose their jobs due to underperformance.
