THUMPING & TRUMPING? Ft. Melkulangara Bhadrakumar, Former Indian Ambassador to Turkey & Uzbekistan

For years, the Russians complained of being neglected and shortchanged by the Americans only to see it turn into a full-blown and unremitting obsession. How does the rest of the world view this never-ending geopolitical bickering? To discuss this, Oksana is joined by Melkulangara Bhadrakumar, former Indian ambassador to Turkey and Uzbekistan, a veteran of the Indian Foreign Service and a current affairs commentator.

  1. Democratic party, fake news media are to blame. Respectful relations with Russia re still possible if Trump weathers the lies and slander against him. Russia and the US will always be sovereign rivals, but they always progress when they are in the same league. The Democrats want WW3, and will use propaganda to achieve their means.

  2. Love this Mahatma, …. well at least he’s getting close. Anyone who talks abouthe extablished power structure in the USoA being as inane as it is has my respect.

  3. I was impressed by Ambassador Bhadrakumar and wonder if he has written any books about his experiences.

I also wonder about Oksana’s assessment regarding the state of Russophobia in the west. Upon what is the assessment of increasing Russophobia based? Is it based upon main stream media sentiment / narratives or is it more scientific?

MSM has become so repulsive that I hardly follow it at all and have not seriously done so since the 1990s. Yet, I respect those who have strong enough stomachs to observe and critique it.

Although the apparent intent of MSM seems, blatantly, about nurturing hostility amongst westerners towards all things Russia, the result for some has been the exact opposite. Strong interest in Russian civilization amongst westerners has resulted. The more that westerners are encouraged to fear and hate, the more interested people become in great relations with Russia. This is my personal experience.
Not that I would wish for anyone to slack off in regard to building relations, I would encourage increased efforts. Yet, I wonder if the Russophobia ‘campaign’ will turn out much like the ‘echo-chamber’ of the Clinton campaign where the party and MSM seemed to think that another Clinton presidency was a ‘done deal’ only to find that campaigners and ‘analysts’ completely ‘missed the mark’.

Thank you for another great show.
