Many people dream of becoming a reporter, very few are successful. A reporter must be enthusiastic, bold, inquiring and knowledgeable — and of course a comfortable performer with a first class broadcasting voice.
Being an experienced journalist with a natural thirst for news and current affairs, someone in this role will have excellent writing and interviewing skills. They need to have an eye for a story and fully understand their target audience. Reporters work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and sound editorial judgement.
A reporter could find themselves in all manner of places; reporting from the Top Gear test track, flying in an RAF helicopter or outside Number 10 interviewing the Prime Minister; no two days will ever be the same.
