The field of journalism is an excellent choice for all those are interested in earning fame, money and a good reputation. Sometimes it can get extremely hectic because you have to express your views in front of an audience that has varying interests. Finally, it is communication careers. This field is driven by technology where having excellent communication skills matter more than anything else. You could be a graduate in communication studies and later take up media, marketing, politics and public relations to build on your skills.
In order to become a successful journalist, you need to first make sure you are aware of everything around you. Whether it is Indian politics or world politics make sure you are updated on everything. Read a bit on sports and entertainment so that you can speak about that if asked during interviews. At the same time you should start learning how to write reports in your own words. That would prepare you as well. When you apply in different colleges, take up mass communication in your undergraduate courses. You can later shift to journalism for your masters and establish a career then.

  1. I went maybe six or eight month at Grand Canyon in Communication. I did not want to be on television like the news. I wanted the newspaper or a magazine. Plus its the only place you can find screenwriting other than majoring in screenwriting. I like to write and how can you do it with no one stealing intellectual creative stuff but write what’s going on around you and what is assign to you.
